The ShardStanding approximately 309 meters (1,014 ft) high, the Shard is currently the tallest building in the European Union. Rope Access Contractors spent 3 years on site at The Shard with a work force peaking at 70 men completing many tasks from installing all the Spire glazing from levels 72 to 96, to replacing glass, snagging the whole facade and cleaning all 11,000 units of glass.
The Walkie Talkie20 Fenchurch Street is a commercial skyscraper in London that takes its name from its address on Fenchurch Street, in the historic City of London financial district. It has been nicknamed The Walkie-Talkie because of its distinctive shape. During the building's construction, it was discovered that for a period of up to two hours each day if the sun shines directly onto the buildings South Elevation which has a 12m overhang, it acts as a concave mirror and focuses light onto the streets to the south. Spot temperature readings including up to 117 °C were observed. Rope Access Contractors erected temporary netting to remove the reflection before installing the brise soleil as a permanent solution, also completing other tasks such as glass replacement and cleaning.
Barclays Canary WharfOne Churchill Place is a 156 m tall skyscraper with 32 floors, serving as the headquarters of Barclays Bank. Rope Access Contractors spent 18 months on site during the original construction of the building and to date have successfully completed over 250 glass replacements. We have also changed the Barclays signs 3 times since the building's completion; no mean feat, as the letters are 5m tall and installed 150m from the ground.
Citigroup25 Canada Square, or Citigroup Centre 2, stands at 200 meters (656 ft) and, alongside HSBC Tower (with which it was built in tandem), is the joint 4th-tallest building in the United Kingdom (behind The Shard, One Canada Square and Heron Tower) Rope Access Contractors spent 8 months on site during the original construction of the building and to date have successfully completed many glass replacements and have also changed the Citigroup signs 3 times since the building's completion.
De HoftorenThe Hoftoren, nicknamed The Fountain Pen is a 29-storey, 141.86 m (465.4 ft) high building in The Hague, Netherlands. Rope Access Contractors, working closely with the Dutch equivalent to the HSE became the first rope access contractor to work in Holland installing the high level cladding around the tallest section of the building.
City PointCityPoint is a skyscraper located on Ropemaker Street on the northern fringe of the City of London. CityPoint was built in 1967 as a 35-storey, 122 metres (400 ft) building. Rope Access Contractors have been involved in installation, glass replacement, cleaning and mastic pointing over a 15 year period on the building and continue to provide maintenance as required.
Moor HouseMoor House is a large office building in the City of London. It is located on the northern edge of the financial district and is one of the largest buildings in the area, standing at 84 metres (276 ft) tall and with 29,000 square metres of floor space. Rope Access Contractors installed all the upper floor silver barrels during the construction phase and have completed numerous glass replacements and leak investigations.
10 Exchange Square10 Exchange Square is designed in a 'wedge' shape and is constructed with a large amount of steel and glass over 11 storeys in the North West corner of Exchange Square London. Rope Access Contractors installed the external sun screens or Brise soleil and have completed glass changes on the building.
